Regression Equations for Calculating the Amino Acid Content of Soybean Meal
The Poultry Science Department at the University of Georgia, College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences has recently updated their regression equations were for estimating soybean meal's amino acid values as a function of crude protein in soybean meal. The regression equations were developed using 1,916 soybean meal samples. The following table provides the regression equations for some critical amino acids in soybean meal and their regression coefficients.

The equations provide a quick way of estimating these amino acids in soybean meal and avoid costly amino acids analyses. Feed formulators can use these regression equations along with NIR crude protein analyses to estimate these amino acids rather than using book values.
