Soybean Meal-Eels
Twenty-three percent of the fish meal was replaced with protein
from soybean meal, lupin meal, corn gluten meal or meat meal in nutritionally
balanced experimental diets for juvenile Australian short-finned eel.
Results indicated that the apparent digestibility of protein was significantly
(P<0.001) higher for soybean meal and lupin meal than the control,
corn gluten meal and meat meal diets. The researchers concluded that
fish meal could be replaced by soybean meal, corn gluten meal and meat
meal without compromising growth rates of the Australian short-finned
eel.
