In another paper, data was presented that transgenic DNA and proteins cannot be detected in meal, milk and egg products and that these products are equivalent in every way to products from animals fed conventional feeds. A new competitive immunoassay sensitive to both intact and partially digested Cry1Ab protein was discussed. Using this immunoassay the transgenic Cry1Ab protein, or immunoreactive fragments of the protein, could not be detected in the breast samples from chickens fed YieldGard® grain. Kevin Glenn. 2001.
