Phytase Studies-Horses
Mature horses were fed an experimental diet consisting of textured concentrate
of rolled corn, oats and soybean meal fed in a 50:50 ratio with native
grass hay. Phytase was added to the diets at 0, 300, 60 and 900 FTU/kg
of basal ration. Results indicated no significant differences (P<0.05)
in dry matter intake, fecal and urine output, dry matter and phosphorus
digestibility between supplemental phytase treatments.
