Two Chinese studies were conducted to evaluate the effects of alpha-galactosidase on broiler performance fed corn-soybean meal diets. Their results indicated that the alpha-galactosidase additions improved true nitrogen-corrected metabolizable energy, methionine/cysteine availability, and digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, crude protein, calcium and phosphorus. These researchers concluded that alpha-galactosidase supplementation of corn-soybean meal-based diets can improve performance of broilers in early stages of growth.
